Deborah Tannen “How Male and Female Students Use Language Differently”

Deborah Tannen opens her essay with examples of Anthropologist and Sociologist experts right away to give the reader a background knowledge on the research that has already been done on how boys and girls use sign language differently. Also with the help of these experts she is going to be able to compare her observations of the different classes dynamics with the research of the experts.

One of the first ways that boys and girls differ from each other is that girls like smaller groups and “it’s the telling of the secrets that makes them best friends”, but on the other hand boys prefer larger groups and “boys are expected to use language to seize center stage: by exhibiting their skill, displaying their knowledge, and challenging and resisting challenges.” That been said is one of the clear ways that mostly in men, trying to achieve “ritual opposition” is the best way to approach any activity. Ritual oppoistion is trying to fight argumentatively to win the debate and win the opposite side. As Walter Ong said in his book “Fighting For Life” he calls it ” adversativeness” or “agonism”.

Levante U.D. 2 vs Real Madrid F.C 3 – The Dramatic Comeback

Saturday, October 5th 2013 – Liga BBVA – Fixture 8

Real Madrid had a really important and complicated away game against Levante U.D. Levante every year when they play against Real Madrid they really makes it really hard for Real Madrid, especially when they play on their turf. On top of that Real Madrid had the pressure of playing before F.C Barcelona and Atletico De Madrid. So, if Real Madrid lost or tie and Barcelona and Atletico win, the point difference would be 7 or 8 points and with teams such as Barcelona and Atletico De Madrid that is a luxury that you cannot afford.

Real Madrid won a very disputed game with a final score of 2-3 (Goals scored by: Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo- Real Madrid side and on Levante side: Baba and Zhar)

It surely was a dramatic win also, Real Madrid were losing 2-1 on the 86th minute of the game there were only 4 min left on the clock plus the stoppage time. The youngster Alvaro Morata scored and tied the game 2-2 in an amazing play on the 89th minute of the game. There was still time left as the referee added 4 minutes of stoppage time and Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t going to conform with a tied because that still was a terrible result for Real Madrid, they needed the win no matter what. Cristiano Ronaldo took a shot on the 93rd minute and scored an incredible goal. The miraculous comeback was accomplished and they took the win home.

It was definitely not the best game from Real Madrid as they are still trying to find the new identity with the new Italian head coach, Carlo Ancelotti.  But this was the first time this season that they showed the fans that they want to win and kept fighting until the end. The last 5 minutes were they managed the comeback was pure heart playing and that whats Real Madrid is all about. From now on every game is the most important game, no matter which team they are playing against. One lose, can mean the end for them, especially with “El Clasico” just around the corner.

Soccer, the most beautiful game in the world. Nothing is really decided until the referee blows the final whistle.

Real Madrid F.C vrs Atletico de Madrid

Saturday 28 September 2013

Madrid was preparing to host the biggest match within the capital of Spain. Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid, every year both teams tries to let the other knows who rules in that part of Spain.

Real Madrid wanted to get some kind of revenge from last season Cup Final match by wining them 1-2 on Real Madrid stadium, The Santiago Bernabeu. That was a harsh loss for Real Madrid, and this case wasn’t going to be any different. Atletico de Madrid scored a goal made by Diego Costa on the 10th minute, one of the best strikers right now. Since that momento Real Madrid couldn’t recover from the early goal and despite having the best players in the world such as, Cristiano Ronaldo, did not find the answer to comeback.

Real Madrid being the most successful soccer team in history, right now its having a crisis. The italian, Carlo Ancelloti the new head coach its having a hard team trying to implement a his style. The Real Madrid fans are very demanding because they always expect the best, because Real Madrid have the best players of the world and when they played as bad they played yesterday is not acceptable. The fans are very angry becuase of their team performance. Its still very early in the year and its only the 7th game of the season but what its really hard to assimilate is that their all time rival F.C Barcelona, is already 5pts ahead of them. Also, Atletico de Madrid is 5pts ahead and havnt lost a game, so Real Madrid is behind their two most rivals and that for the Real Madrid’s fans are not going to accept.

Next match Wednesday on Champions League: FC Kopenahevn. A chance to redeem themselves form yesterday’s performance in their stadium, The Santiago Bernabeu. A good way to forget about yesterday and a win on Wednesday match on the most especial championship for any european team, and especially Real Madrid.
